The design of the ZED line of bindings incorporates a flex compensation mechanism, commonly referred to as Forward Pressure. The flex compensation allows for the binding to reliably maintain release values in dynamic skiing conditions while the ski flexes. The design of the mechanism is such that it does not lock out fore/aft movement while in tour mode. Users experiencing greater than 3mm of flex when walking in tour mode can exchange the normal Forward Pressure Spring (silver) with a stiffer alternative (black) in order to reduce fore/aft movement.
